This is part of a cargo consisting of tiles, roof tiles, and construction materials, belonging to a probable shipwreck, which was excavated between 2007 and 2009 by local divers coordinated by the Superintendence for Archaeological Heritage of Southern Etruria. The wreck, discovered in 1990 approximately 250 meters offshore of Punta Zingara on Bisentina island, at a depth between 9 and 14 meters, has so far yielded no significant remains. The reconstructed course appears to lead towards the Bisentina Island, and the dating can be placed between the Archaic period and the early Republican Era (6th-3rd centuries BC). On the wall above, the cargo has been displayed, together with the photomosaic of the still-submerged wreck. A part of the cargo is also on display at the Territorial Museum of Lake Bolsena.
