The tactile room was organized as part of a targeted project with the Chair of Palænology and Museology at the University of Tuscia, around the theme of fishing and the core of Piero Carosi’s collection of net weights, used until the 1950s, by Piero Carosi, a former Rai executive and fishing enthusiast. Here you can also admire the pot for “sbroscia,” a typical Bolsena soup, the iron tripod and the bronze cauldron used to cook over a fire in the 1950s, and several containers, among which one in particular for salt, an indispensable element for preserving the catch. You can see various kinds of bait, tools for weaving fishing nets, and oil- and acetylene-powered lamps.
Recently a large poster has also been added, detailing all the species of freshwater fish that can be found in particular in Lake Bolsena, reproduced in small plywood models for teaching.
